Abstract:   (1309 Views)
Introduction: Diabetes is a chronic disease that requires continuous management and support, particularly in families with children affected by this condition. This systematic review aims to evaluate the impact of family-centered interventions on families with children diagnosed with type I diabetes.
Materials and Methods: This study employed a targeted and integrated review methodology. A comprehensive search was conducted using the keywords "Intervention," "Diabetes," "Child," and "Family" in electronic databases, including PubMed, Google Scholar, Springer, and ScienceDirect, to identify relevant studies published between 2010 and 2024. Studies focusing on the effects of family-centered interventions on families with children living with type 1 diabetes were included. In total, the results of eight studies that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed in this review.
Results: The initial search yielded 100 articles. However, after a detailed examination aligned with the objectives of this research, eight articles were selected. Most of these articles were intervention-focused. Findings from these studies suggest that family-centered interventions significantly impact diabetes management within families. Reported benefits include improved adherence to treatment regimens, better blood sugar control, and enhanced quality of life for both children and parents. Nevertheless, further research is required to explore the mechanisms by which family-centered interventions foster positive behavioral changes in families managing type I diabetes.
Conclusion: This review highlights the critical role of family-centered techniques in interventions designed to support families with children diagnosed with type I diabetes.
